Good Bye Letter

Dear Parents,

It was a great pleasure to have your little ones in our classroom this year. We learned so many things. Your children are proud because they know how to read and write.
This year is over, so now we return your children to you, the same children that you entrusted to our care last fall. We return them with a few extra pounds, a few inches taller, and months wiser, more responsible and capable, and more mature than back then.
Even though they would have grown without our help, it has been a pleasure and a privilege to see their personalities grow day by day and see how they have developed in their learning. It is has been an honour to guide your children to be excited and confident and develop a love for school.
We have laughed, played, studied, learned and enriched our lives during the year. Take care of your children, for they are so precious.
Remember that we will always have great interest in your children and their destines, wherever they may go, whatever they do and whoever they become.

With Love,
Mrs. Long and Mrs. Lawrenson

As many of you know, with a very heavy heart, I will not be teaching at St. Williams next year. Unfortunately my position will not be available due to enrollment. (Please say a little prayer for me that it changes so I can stay) I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me into your lives and sharing your beautiful children with me. Everyone of them was the reason I came to school each day excited and ready to explore their world with them. These children made me laugh, and cry with pride. These children, are the reason why I do what I do...teach a love of learning.
Please feel free to share any news or pictures with me of their accomplishments. I'm always excited to know.

All my love,
Mrs. Long

I have A, who has T?

We have been practicing this game all school year!! We did it with very little help!!! I love how our SK's help our JK's.
I can't wait to see out JK's become the classroom leaders next year!! They've had great role models.

Lemonade stand

This was a great inquiry. It was provoked by the telling of the story Olivia has a lemonade stand.

The children made aplan for a lemonade stand. We made a list of the things we would need to make the the lemonade and drawing of what it would like. Many children wrote the words, created signs, and used money to sell their cold beverage.
We smelled and tasted the lemons.
WE squeezed the lemon, we used the juicer and our hands. Our hands worked the best. We measured how much juice came out of one lemon and then how much came out of 4 lemons.
We tried the lemons too, Good sour faces!
Some loved it, others didn't.

Do you think that will be enough juice for the pitcher of lemonade?
We added water and sugar and even some strawberries. We put it in the fridge to chill for the afternoon.
Everyone sampled it. It was delicious!!! And sour!!

The boys made a lemonade stand. They served lemonade (water), charged .5 cents.
They washed the cups. They poured and wiped and ran a very successful business!!

Field trip!!

This is how it began...9am

Excitement is going strong.
Few songs to sing to keep us busy on the bus.

And this is how it ends...2:45pm

Thank you to all the parents who were able to come and join in on this field trip. The kids had a great chat about their favorite things that they saw and did. Thank you for helping lasting memories for the children to carry with them through their school years.
Thank you for helping us enjoy this last big day with your children. We enjoyed our day watching our students play and laugh.

Until next year.....
