You will have to excuse the look of some these posts, they are under construction...sometimes what we create, is not always what posts. So, just enjoy the pictures, the "prettiness" is a work in progress.
During our Halloween party, the children were able to participate in many games and crafts.
There were many to choose from, and everyone wanted to do ALL the centers.
Halloween is a very exciting time for the children, and it was so much fun to celebrate with them.
A little dress up is a MUST for Halloween Cutest witches I've ever seen. |
"Can we cook the seeds.' |
"its so squishy." "Its soft". "it's cold inside "
"look at it leak between my fingers when I squeeze"
"the ice cream scooper works better than the spoons." "It's kinda stinky"
"can we taste it?"
There was a lot of inquiry, new vocabulary, sharing and taking turns, science and math and great ideas how to explore our pumpkins
We measured and weighed the pumpkins and the guts.
We sorted seeds from guts.
We had a cooking lesson for pumpkin seeds.
We tasted pumpkin seeds.
We made tally charts as to what kind of face we should carve.
We made a "how many pumpkins tall are you" measuring tape.
This is what is so exciting about play based and inquiry play. Look what they learned!!! Look how they loved to learn. See their confidence grow in making choices and expressing themselves!!!
Thank you to Mrs. Smith for your donation of our pumpkins. And the art supplies was so appreciated.
